Five Star Franchising: Conference Keynote
Helping a big idea land in just a few seconds
When you’ve written an engaging keynote, it’s tempting to put the words on supporting slides and let the audience read along. However, a presentation slide has a different job than a speech: it needs to communicate an idea quickly enough that people can understand it without taking their attention away from the speaker.
For a CEO’s conference presentation, we worked through the keynote to determine which ideas deserved a visual moment and which were better left to the speaker. We distilled complex points into simple graphics, established a rhythm for when slides should appear, and designed each one to communicate its message at a glance.
The result was a presentation that supported the speaker rather than competing with him — giving the audience something useful to look at while keeping the focus where it belonged.
